Contest Rules and Information 1. Entry fee for the pageant is $100.00 if paid before the pageant. If the entry fee is paid the day of the pageant, the fee will be $125.00. Payments must be made in the form of cash, money order, or cashier's check payable to International Pageantry. No personal or business checks will be accepted. 2. Contestants will be judged in the following categories: Personal Interview, Presentation, Evening Gown, and Talent. 3. Interview must be done as a male. The only exception to this rule is if the contestant is currently living as a woman. In such cases, please notify us ahead of time and make the proper arrangements. Please also be aware that business professional attire is required for this portion (i.e. suit and tie). 4. It is strongly recommended that you bring more than one outfit for presentation. Your presentation consists of the following: at rehearsal the day of the pageant, you will draw one cassette tape. Each tape has two songs on it. One is on side A, the other is on side B. You must choose which side you are going to do once the tape is drawn. Each song is approximately 3 minutes in length. At the conclusion of your song, a microphone will be given to you, and you are expected to introduce yourself to the audience in the following manner – name, age, where you are from, zodiac sign, and one personal comment. Please do not announce any titles you currently have or have held. This will be read during the evening gown competition. 5. Evening gown competition is open. You may wear any gown of your choosing. This includes any style, sequined, beaded, or plain fabric. Please be aware that al gowns must be full length and accessorized properly. You will be given a form following your interview that you can write your evening gown commentary and bio on. Please turn this into the pageant coordinator at rehearsal the next day. 6. Your talent is at your discretion. Talent is limited to 7 minutes, with 3 minutes allowed for prop set up and breakdown. Please check with the host club ahead of time to see if they have restrictions on open flames, water, or any sort of items that may cause damage to the club. No talents that involve cleaning up the floor afterwards will be allowed. 7. You will be allowed one (1) dresser. You will be issued a pass for your dresser at rehearsal. If you lose the pass, your dresser will not be allowed backstage. You and your one dresser will be allowed in the bar without paying a cover. Anyone in your talent must pay full cover price, and will not be allowed backstage until it is time to get ready for your talent. The pageant coordinator will ask you for the names of anyone in your talent, and check those names off before your talent people are allowed in the dressing room. Anyone trying to get backstage without a pass will be removed from the dressing area, and potentially removed from the bar entirely. 8. You will be allowed a maximum of two alcoholic beverages. You will be supplied with one bottle of water from the pageant. This bottle is not to leave the dressing room area for any reason. Any contestant caught having more than two alcoholic beverages, or appearing intoxicated will be disqualified immediately. 9. Entry fees are non-refundable, no exceptions. 10. Contestants are expected to be on time for all events. If for some reason, you cannot be on time, please call the bar or the host hotel and make sure you speak to a pageant coordinator, or one of the national titleholders. In the event you do not contact someone, you stand the chance of being disqualified. 11. Contestant Registration and Interview scheduling will begin at 5 pm on Saturday, March 30th at the Ramada Inn Plaza on Fair Grove Church Road. This is at Exit 128 off I-40.
